@TheRealOneEye Like the U.S. China has a large coal industry, but it doesn't have a lobby and when miners get killed from safety violations, executives die too. When China says we're moving to clean energy, it's going to happen. Lobbbies aren't going to hold them back and they are ahead of us in clean energy implementation already. They produce more solar cells and wind turbines than we do.

@TheRealOneEye You must not have read or seen anything out of China in 20 years. China is already ahead of Japan as the second largest economy in the world.China is the largest car market in the world at 5 times the US.

That is because that is the only kind of transportation those people can afford. And if you think there's no public transit in the US, you're a complete moron, I've taken the bus all over Seattle, it's affordable and a great way to get about. Get your head out of your ass and see what China is actually doing to its people, it's terrible, and NOTHING like the US.

America will follow these overpopulated older countries because America is too dumb to learn from them. Just a few million more Mexicans should do it. Couple of oil spills, more cars, and some heavy breeding.

Of course under a cap and trade carbon economy the big polluters in US and Canada and UK would subsidize emerging nations like China. (Emerging nations with space programs, nuclear program...real hard up types)
